THE COMPASS COURSE

Mindfulness in Nature Skills Training

July 25 - 26, 2026 · Gunnison, CO

You are more capable — and more exhausted — than any previous generation was asked to be. And somewhere in all that capability — something quieter, something that cares more about meaning than output — has been waiting for the noise to settle.

The tools that were supposed to make life better have made it louder. Your nervous system was designed for stillness, depth, and genuine connection with the living world. The gap between those two things is what most people call stress, or burnout, or the vague sense that something important has gone quiet.

It isn't weakness. And it is workable.

THE GUIDE

I built homes from straw and timber. Guided people through wilderness. Found my way through dark seasons of my own — I learned that we don’t change when we see the light, rather it’s through the heat that changes a person permanently.

The intelligence you need is already in you. It was never lost. Only unattended.

Life coach · Ikigai coach · Transpersonal hypnotherapist · Mindfulness instructor · Outdoor educator

Two days of principle-based skills training. Practical, grounded, built for the life you're actually living. Closer in spirit to a wilderness first aid course — you leave with tools that work in real conditions.

COMMON QUESTIONS

Do I need experience with meditation or hypnotherapy?

None at all. The course teaches everything it uses. If you have existing practice, it deepens. If you have none, every practice is accessible from the first session.

Is this therapy?

No. The Compass Course is skills training — principle-based and practical. It will likely have a therapeutic effect, because slowing down and paying honest attention tends to do that. But it is not a substitute for clinical mental health support.

Will I lose control during self-hypnosis?

No. All hypnosis is self-hypnosis. You remain in full awareness and full control. The state is similar to being deeply absorbed in a film. You will be guided somewhere you are already capable of going.

What’s the difference between live and online?

The live course offers the group experience — outdoor sessions, small group witnessing, closing ceremony, and shared presence. The online course delivers all eight modules with interactive workbook and guided audio. Both are complete.

How do I know if I’m ready?

If you felt something when you read "the world got faster and your nervous system didn't" — you're ready. No other qualification required. Come as you are. The compass works from here.

Participants leave with a personal practice built from their own honest attention — not borrowed from someone else's system. Tools that work in real conditions. A compass that points inward as reliably as any compass points north

And something harder to name — a quality of ease with themselves that was always available, and is now a little more accessible than it was before.

Wild heart, calm mind.
